2. Baking soda application.
Because of its many applications, baking soda is a popular home remedy. For the treatment of herpes, mix 2 to 3 teaspoons and one glass of water which is warm. Using balls of surgical cotton, apply the solution on the blisters. The application should be repeated 2 to 3 times every day. Due to its mild alkaline nature, baking soda gives a soothing effect. As a result, the solution relieves the burning sensation as well as itching. Baking soda is also a good anti-inflammatory agent that help to minimize swelling as a result of blistering wounds.
